Just a day before celebrating the 15th birthday, the world renowned search engine – Google has come up with another algorithm update just to keep track with the evolution of internet practice. On 26th September 2013 the company had announced that their latest algorithm will be called “hummingbird” and this will at present affect 90 percent of the searches made worldwide through Google search. The introduction of the latest algorithm clearly highlights the company’s effort in matching the implication of enquiries made with that of documents available over the internet.

According to Google, the name hummingbird was chosen to signify “precise and swift” as it has been solely designed for returning better search results. Hummingbird has been organised as a combination of old and new search engines so that it can accomplish the search demands made by current time. In other words, it can concentrate more on the meaning of each keyword and can provide something extra than just matching pages with the related keywords.

Though the introduction of Hummingbird was made public on Thursday, Google has been using it since a month. Over the years, the web has developed into many fold benefits and now hummingbird is here to make things even better.
