Google Penguin update has been launched by Google on 24th April. Google has designed this update to avoid spam sites. The sites which were doing cheating to the Google by “Keyword stuffing” or “cloaking” and violating the Google’s guidelines have got punishment by Google through Penguin Update. The Webspam update by Matt Cutts officially as well on twitter about the Penguin update is:-

google-penguin“In the next few days, we’re launching an important algorithm change targeted at web spam. The change will decrease rankings for sites that we believe are violating Google’s existing quality guidelines. We’ve always targeted web spam in our rankings, and this algorithm represents another improvement in our efforts to reduce webspam and promote high quality content. While we can’t divulge specific signals because we don’t want to give people a way to game our search results and worsen the experience for users, our advice for webmasters is to focus on creating high quality sites that create a good user experience and employ white hat SEO methods instead of engaging in aggressive webspam tactics.”

Guidelines by Google for the quality content websites

  • Avoid hidden text or hidden links.
  • Don’t use cloaking or sneaky redirects.
  • Don’t send automated queries to Google.
  • Don’t load pages with irrelevant keywords.
  • Don’t create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.
  • Don’t create pages with malicious behavior, such as phishing or installing viruses, Trojans, or other badware.
  • Avoid “doorway” pages created just for search engines, or other “cookie cutter” approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content.
  • If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.

The guidelines given by Google are must to do things and will help the sites to be original and worth for users. Google simply demands the users for user friendly rather SEO friendly. Google hates Cloaking and taking revenge to the sites that has been doing cloaking to the site. The submission from the unauthorized computer programs which violates the terms and conditions of the Google. Google does not have interest in serving the automated queries to the websites.
